Baptism of Children and Adults/Becoming a Catholic

Baptism of Children and Adults

Becoming a Catholic/The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Adults, and children who have attained the age of reason (traditionally, age 7), who wish to become fully initiated members of the Catholic faith can take the time to discern their decision with a member of our Faith Formation team.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) process generally takes one year, culminating in baptism, confirmation and eucharist at Easter time (typically at the Easter Vigil). RCIA candidates meet with the RCIA team each week before Sunday Mass, at 9 a.m.

Young people aged 10 to 17 who would like to be baptized are welcome to learn and grow alongside our confirmation preparation group in the fall. We will discuss baptism, confirmation, eucharist, and the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and we will make an individualized plan for how to best prepare you for the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and eucharist.

For younger children who would like to be baptized, a special catechesis program can be tailored specifically for their faith needs.

If you feel called to join the Catholic faith, please contact us here.
