As we take the time to prepare for our Lord’s birt As we take the time to prepare for our Lord’s birth, our parishioners gave a different kind of gift! Canadian Blood Services is always looking for life-giving blood and plasma donors. Led by @jancamcal, our parish donation team, the “B-lievers” made their way to Orleans to give plasma, and learn about the fascinating science of giving!
Canadian Martyrs B-lievers would like to make another team donation next Friday Dec 12. Please let us know if you’d like to join the team, and get some free swag!

Our Advent Fair today was filled with the joyous b Our Advent Fair today was filled with the joyous buzz of activity and song, as our youngest members of the parish prepared for the birth of our Lord by hearing a dramatic reading of the Three Wise Men story, making a nativity scene craft, as well as an Advent prayer journal! Cookies and hot chocolate rounded out the festivities. Overall, a great start to our Advent season!
Thank you to Mrs Kononenko, and to our Youth Group members and leaders, for making this such a beautiful and memorable time for our parish family ♥️

Busy hands were preparing crafts for our young ones. Our youth even brought gifts and materials to wrap up FIVE Christmas boxes for underprivileged youth in our community! THANK YOU, to our young people. You give us hope for a better future!!

Let all that you do be done with love.

Thank you, Rosemarie Hoey, for sharing your depth Thank you, Rosemarie Hoey, for sharing your depth of knowledge on the history of our parish and our beautiful stained glass window.

With its exquisite details and craftsmanship, our sanctuary window is too often overlooked. Depicting the Blessed Virgin Mary and the child Jesus, surrounded by the eight Canadian Martyrs, this window is a priceless treasure. Did you know that it was crafted in 1954 by Theo Lubbers, who was considered one of the last European masters of stained glass?

Friday night Youth Group was lively with discussio Friday night Youth Group was lively with discussion and made time for reflection too! We talked about what makes us happy, what real happiness might look like, and reflected in church on God’s abiding love for us. Our youth were encouraged to write positive messages to themselves on the mirror, so they can take a moment at the beginning of each YG meeting for some affirming self-talk and see themselves the way God sees them.

“I am kind.”
“I am intelligent.”
“I am strong.”
“I am forgiven.”
“I am enough.”
“Despite everything, I still deserve love.”
“My family is proud of me.”

We also took time to cut our hearts for our offertory basket. Kids can write their acts of kindness on the hearts and place them in the basket each week!

Our Youth Group took some time last night for disc Our Youth Group took some time last night for discussion, prayer, creativity, service, and of course, pizza!

Their collaborative activity challenged their skills of observation and communication, as they took turns gazing at an image of Jesus the Teacher, and worked to recreate what they perceived. Afterward, they reflected on how sharing your faith can be just as challenging, as we often don’t have the tools to adequately describe the emotions that our relationship with God can evoke in each of us. #fridaynightyouthgroup #prayerandreflection #youthinaction #JesustheTeacher
Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The day honours the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.
